Performance Management

Managing performance requires us to reconcile caring for and developing our people whilst ensuring that business aims are achieved. Managing performance requires us to strike a balance between compassion and accountability.
Good modern leaders strive to balance these two areas according to the situations in which performance needs managing. Being able to assess situations and adapt our response is vital to managing people. If we manage people well, we manage performance well too.

  • Factors affecting motivation and ability to learn
  • Conscious competence learning
  • Assessing development needs
  • Formally managing poor performance
  • Essential feedback skills

This course is one module of the North Canterbury Leadership Series. It can be attended as a stand-alone course or you may want to attend the entire series at our next intake in August.
