The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of over 50,000 that is experiencing rapid growth with a high rate of development accompanied by corresponding demands on infrastructure and services.

The Council is seeking up to two Summer Intern Engineer(s) to work within the Project Delivery Unit, based in Rangiora. The Project Delivery Unit provides asset management and engineering planning, design, delivery and development consultancy services to the Utilities and Roading Department and the wider Council.

This is a fantastic opportunity for engineering and science based students (or recent graduates) to gain professional experience in a supportive environment which will include training and mentoring. With the potential for career progression, the Council offers a challenging work environment where you can really make a difference.

You will be working for a Council that, with approximately 280 staff, is big enough to offer a variety of work challenges, yet small enough to offer a friendly and personable work environment.

With our main office in Rangiora, just 30 minutes north of Christchurch, you will also have the opportunity to live in the rural environment, provincial town, or Christchurch City, all within an easy commute of work.

The position of Summer Intern Engineer is a fixed term position over the 2017/18 summer holidays
