Reticulation Maintenance Serviceperson, Water Unit

The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of over 50,000 that is experiencing rapid growth with a high rate of development accompanied by corresponding demands on infrastructure and services.

The Council is seeking a Reticulation Maintenance Serviceperson to work within the Water Unit which is based at our Southbrook depot in Rangiora. The Water Unit is an internal service provider providing services to our 3 Waters & Green Space Teams, and the wider Council.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated person who enjoys a variety of work servicing our Council's 3 waters infrastructure. Typical tasks include maintenance and operation of sewer, water and drainage reticulation services, undertaking the works in relation to the renewal of existing infrastructure and new capital works due to growth of the network.

To secure this position you will need to have:

  • A practical knowledge of reticulation maintenance repairs, backflow/restrictor maintenance civil construction methods associated with reticulation maintenance;
  • NZQA certification as a water/wastewater reticulation service person or equivalent or willing to undertake training;
