Waimakariri District Council is seeking an experienced Policy Planner at an Intermediate or Senior level.
We need someone who shares our community based values to contribute to the development of our District Plan Review.
The role involves policy development work for the review, crafting and articulating district plan provisions along with reasoning, working with Councillors, stakeholders and the community.
To be successful you will have up to date knowledge relevant to District Plan development and preparing provisions under the Resource Management Act 1991. You will also have a relevant qualification and experience within local government or a consultancy environment.
You will have proven experience in policy development from start to finish, exceptional time management skills, project and workflow management, and the ability to meet deadlines. Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be crucial to your success, as will your adaptability to changing situations.
The Waimakariri District is a New Zealand top five growth area. At 60,000 people, the fourth largest District by population in the South Island, it provides an exceptional range of rural and urban lifestyles.
