Waimakariri District is one of the fastest-growing Districts in New Zealand and the third-largest, by population, in the South Island. This brings with it abundant challenges across a diverse range of areas. The Council is seeking a Land Development Auditor within the Project Delivery Unit, based in Rangiora, North Canterbury, to provide auditing and inspection on an array of growth-related developments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, skilled and experienced inspector or engineer to join a progressive and customer-focused Council. This is a permanent term full-time position with the responsibility of ensuring assets vested to Council meet consent conditions are constructed in a long-term sustainable manner. We currently have some exciting developments underway requiring auditing and inspection.
The Land Development Auditor is an intermediate to senior level role within the Utilities & Roading Department and a key part of the Project Delivery Unit. You will be responsible for providing high-quality construction engineering input on development projects within the District and ensuring that infrastructure constructed meets Council requirements. This is a great opportunity to take ownership and work closely with the public, Council, consultants, and contractors to deliver outstanding results.
This role will suit an experienced engineer or contractor, with expertise in the construction of large greenfield subdivisions. Ideally, applicants should have experience in civil construction techniques. Attention to detail and strong organisation and oral communication skills are essential for this varied and challenging position.
