The Waimakariri District Council currently operates high quality Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and Oxford Community Aquatic Centre, enabling the Council to offer industry leading aquatic programmes and recreational opportunities.
The Council's Aquatic Facilities are committed to providing a high level of customer experience to a wide range of users by ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential and providing the highest value possible to our communities.
To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for a Coordinator for our Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre. This position is being advertised following the resignation of the previous incumbent.
As the Centre Coordinator, you will be an organised and passionate leader seeking a role which provides direct contact with the customer and our community. You will be responsible for organising our operational staff who deliver our services. This will include rostering, administration, training, and development.
Industry experience and the proven ability to work with a diverse customer base would be of benefit. It is likely that you will have had previous experience leading teams and can demonstrate a sound knowledge of Learn to Swim and Lifeguard duties. Health and Safety experience, while not essential, would be an advantage. The successful applicant will need to hold or be capable of achieving the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and Swim Teach Award.
In return, we will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in this community. We will nurture your desire to have purpose in your work and will empower you to make key decisions. You will help to grow recreation participation within the district and contribute to the growth and develop of your team.
This role is a permanent full time position. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant who will be able to demonstrate the right attitude and experience levels.
