This rare opportunity to develop your career in a true generalist HR position has a strong emphasis on employment relations and requires the provision of sound HR advice and assistance to key stakeholders throughout the business. The HR Advisor will work closely with Department Managers and Owner / Operators in areas such as recruitment, induction, training, conflict resolution, performance management and HR projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide best practice HR support and assistance to Owner / Operators and Department Managers.
  • Facilitate recruitment and induction processes in consultation with Department Managers, including contract preparation
  • Deliver training and development for our diverse team
  • Advise and assist with recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Advise and assist with performance management and improvement tracking
  • Implementing HR compliance of employment related legislation


Selection Criteria:

  • Solid generalist HR experience, preferably obtained within a large organisation
  • Relevant tertiary qualification 3 year degree with HR major strongly preferred but not essential
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in HR advice, support and administration
  • A good working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation
  • The ability to communicate successfully with a wide range of people including team members, Department Managers, Business Owners and external organisations
  • Intermediate to high level in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding planning and organising skills - able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Team Player who will support and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritise is essential
