A full-time position has become available for a person who is possibly looking for a career change or who is looking to move into a role that will offer them role diversity. The successful applicant could be someone with a construction industry background who is looking for a change, or person with a knowledge of DIY equipment.

Rangiora Hire Ltd is a leading hire company in North Canterbury.  It is a locally owned and operated family business, established in Rangiora for 20 years.  Providing equipment for hire to the trades, through to the lifestyle block owners, farmers and DIY home handymen.

The position involves:

Dealing with customer enquiries either over the counter or via the telephone, booking orders, loading and unloading hire equipment, completing hire contracts, closing contracts, invoicing and payment processing. As the company operates a computerised rental system a basic knowledges of computer use will be required. As you will be required to assist customers in understanding the operation and safety requirements of equipment, you will require a knowledge of machinery operation.  Cleaning and servicing equipment is also part of the job.

Customer service is paramount. You will need to be a good negotiator, have excellent communication skills and a friendly, helpful disposition.

The successful applicant you will need to be great with people and have the ability to quickly build positive long-term relationships with our diverse range of customers. A can-do attitude is essential as is the ability to manage the physical aspects of the role. A class 2 driver’s licence and a forklift licence would be a distinct advantage, as would having experience in the construction industry.

Hours of business are 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and Sunday’s 9am to 4pm.  Staff work  on a rotating 4 days per week roster which includes weekends.

Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant.
