Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing Districts in New Zealand and the fourth largest, by population, in the South Island. The Council is seeking a Construction Management Engineer within the Project Delivery Unit, based in Rangiora, North Canterbury to help deliver the capital works and renewals programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled Surveyor or Technician to join a progressive and customer-focused Council.
This is a permanent full-time position with the responsibility of providing surveying, design, draughting, and construction management on a variety of projects in a long-term sustainable manner. We currently have some exciting roading and 3 waters projects underway offering challenge and variety.
The Construction Management Engineer is an intermediate role within the Utilities & Roading Department and a key part of the Project Delivery Unit. You will have overall survey responsibility plus be responsible for providing design inputs through investigations and surveys, supervising construction, and producing civil designs and drawings. This is a great opportunity to take ownership and work closely with the public, Council, consultants, and contractors to deliver outstanding results.
This role will suit a qualified Surveyor or Technician and ideally applicants should have experience in surveying, draughting, civil engineering design principles, and construction techniques. Strong organisation and oral communication skills are essential for this varied and challenging position.
