Ngāi Tahu Farming is the Kaitiaki (guardian) of the most significant whenua (land) footprint for Ngāi Tahu, spanning almost 100,000 ha of farm and forestry land in Te Waipounamu (the South Island).

Our Dairy team consists of eight dairy farms and five dairy support farms over 3450 ha at Te Whenua Hou (Eyrewell), half an hour north of Christchurch. Each of the farms operates a 64 bale fully automated rotary shed, utilising Protrack, and has a fully pivoted irrigation system that utilises several other best-practice technologies.

We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager (2IC) to join our whānau in April 2020 to support the Dairy Farm Manager. Farm Waimakariri is located on Poyntz Road, North Canterbury. The Farm is 314 hectares, milking 930 cows and has four full time kaimahi (employees) plus additional casual support when required.
