The North Canterbury Business Awards Gala Evening is an exclusive black-tie event where all of the award winners are announced and all of the awards are presented. This will be the very first major non-sporting event at the MainPower Stadium in Rangiora. This is your chance to dress up, enjoy a fantastic meal, mix with successful business people and celebrate the best that the North Canterbury business community has to offer.
With special guest MC Jackie Clarke, live music and fine dining, the North Canterbury Business Awards Gala Evening is set to once again be a hugely entertaining event and an excellent networking opportunity.
The 2021 North Canterbury Business Awards Gala Evening will be held on the evening of Friday, September 24th at the MainPower Stadium from 5.30pm till midnight. Tickets are $185+GST and can be reserved now.
Jackie Clarke was the MC for the 2016 North Canterbury business awards and we have been constantly asked since then when we will get her back. She is glamorous, funny and wickedly entertaining.
Jackie Clarke has been involved in New Zealand’s entertainment industry for more than 35 years and was recognised with an MNZM for services to the industry (Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018).
In the 1980s Ms Clarke co-founded iconic pop comedy group When The Cat’s Been Spayed, releasing two albums and touring the country for ten years. For the past twelve years, she’s been part of acclaimed vocal group The Lady Killers with Tina Cross and Suzanne Lynch. Individually she has toured with artists such as Dave Dobbyn and Annie Crummer, and recorded with artists such as Mika, Don McGlashan, Midge Marsden and Jan Hellriegel. Her stage career has included starring in large-scale productions of Joseph, Mamma Mia, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Mum’s the Word and Once as well as premieres of New Zealand works such as The Underwatermelon Man, C The Musical, Dominion Road and Hairy Maclary.
She has performed with all of New Zealand’s major orchestras, was a regular fixture at Auckland’s Christmas in the Park concerts and has been part of the Jubilation gospel choir for 18 years. Her television work includes acting in the comedy series ‘Skitz’ and its spinoff ‘The Semisis’, presenting documentaries such as “Wise Women and Song”, ‘War Songs’ and ‘Twins’, hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ and judging ‘Showcase’ and ‘New Zealand Idol’. le productions of Joseph, Mamma Mia, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Mum’s the Word and Once as well as premieres of New Zealand works such as The Underwatermelon Man, C The Musical, Dominion Road and Hairy Maclary.
Ms Clarke is a New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation Ambassador and a host of the annual Kids For Kids national concert series.
