For a limited time, Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) is offering small businesses a grant towards professional cashflow advice. Over $22,000 has already been granted in the past three weeks to local businesses.
The grant, announced on April 16th, provides $400 towards the cost of cashflow forecasting advice to small and medium sized businesses in North Canterbury that have been negatively affected by the Covid-19 situation. Businesses who choose to spend their grant with one of the five participating professional service partners also receive an additional $400 worth of time, donated by the partners themselves.
To date, 57 businesses across Waimakariri, Hurunui and Kaikoura have successfully applied for the grant, with a total of $22,800 paid out.
ENC Chief Executive Heather Warwick says although the fund is limited, businesses are still encouraged to apply.
“We are pleased we are able to offer this grant thanks to the Waimakariri, Hurunui and Kaikoura District Councils and our local Professional Service Partners who have offered to match our funding,” Heather said.
“Small to medium businesses make up a huge percentage of our local business community and we know many are suffering due to the effects of Covid-19. We encourage those businesses to come forward and apply for this grant to help them navigate this difficult time, before the grant runs out.”
To be eligible for the fund, businesses must:
To apply, business operators must fill in the application form which will go to the ENC Business Support Team who will see if the business fits the criteria and contact the applicant to confirm the grant. Successful applicants can then contact their chosen accountant, to whom the $400 from ENC will have been paid.
“It is a limited amount for a limited time only, but it is not too late for North Canterbury and Kaikōura businesses to apply,” says Heather.
