The second North Canterbury Expo is taking place in October and organisers say it will be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event.

The event is designed to showcase to the public the many and varying businesses and community groups operating in the North Canterbury region. Over 60 displays are expected at this year’s event, whereas last year saw 46.

Belinda Topp, Promotions and Membership Coordinator at Rangiora Promotions, which organises the Expo, says, “We have such a thriving community of businesses as well as community groups offering various support services that we just want to shout it from the roof tops.

“The North Canterbury Expo is designed to display the array of options available to our community at our doorstep and that there really is no need to seek services across the Waimakariri Bridge. It provides an opportunity for our community to come along and learn about all that is available to them.”

As well as a chance for local businesses to meet and make themselves known to new customers, the event provides a great opportunity for business-to-business networking.

“Last year the exhibitors found the occasion was incredibly beneficial and many of them did business with each other on the day and made new connections,” explains Belinda.

Rangiora Promotions encourages local businesses and community groups to ‘think outside the square’ to attract customers to their booth, and offer ‘expo only specials’ to entice customers to the event. They are also offering a prize of a $1000 Stuff advertising voucher for one lucky business or community group that registers for the expo before August 31st.

“As well as a great opportunity for businesses and community groups, this event is designed to save customers time and money as they discover numerous local products and services in one place, receive expo-only discounts and have the chance to chat directly to business owners and community group operators.”

The 2019 North Canterbury Expo is being held on Saturday, October 12 from 10am-3pm at Rangiora New Life School on Denchs Road. Entry is free.

Businesses or community groups wishing to register a booth can do so via the Rangiora Promotions website.
