A wide range of local business training opportunities are on the cards this year as the Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) business training calendar kicks off for 2021.

The calendar includes a selection of popular returning courses and workshops as well as a number of new additions and some new faces hosting the free Talk with the Experts series.

ENC Business Growth Advisor Guy Graham says there has already been keen interest in the upcoming courses.  “Despite – or perhaps because of – last year’s upheaval, local businesses appear keen to brush up on their processes, skills and knowledge. Our ever-popular Supervising & Managing Others course has had significant interest once again, and we’re getting bookings for our new courses too.”

In addition to the Supervising & Managing Others course presented by Victoria Barkway in March, the first half of 2021 also includes a new Virtual Reality Health & Safety Training session with Brannigans, a free seminar on frauds and scams with ANZ and the second round of the successful Business Startup Boost Programme which began last year in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development.  There are also two upcoming Talk with the Experts sessions – one on running a successful business with Success Factor Consultancy and Coaching, and another with Real Communications focusing on all aspects of business marketing and communications. Talk with the Experts sessions comprise a free, no-obligation chat with a business expert on a specific topic and run at various times throughout the year.

Guy says with six events already scheduled before June, there will be more events added to the 2021 calendar. “The ENC events team works hard to arrange and provide a variety of courses, workshops and information sessions from a range of providers. We aim to meet the needs of as many local business operators as possible so we are always adding to our offering and are also open to suggestions for course content.”
