The 2019 Enterprise North Canterbury Business Training Calendar wraps up next month, with the final courses for the year almost booked out.

Perennial favourite, Supervising and Managing Others, kicks off on October 10th and runs until October 31st in its format of four half-day workshops. The workshops are followed by two hours of one-on-one coaching for each participant, with presenter Victoria Barkway.

Guy Graham, Business Growth Advisor at Enterprise North Canterbury, says the Supervising and Managing Others course is consistently popular due to the high value of the information that participants gain.

“The consistent feedback we get from participants of this course is that they come away with a newfound level of knowledge and confidence regarding how to deal with their staff, how to manage their team better and also how to manage their own time and workflow in a managerial role,” he said.

“People often comment that they enjoy the small group size that we arrange for this course, and they all enjoy working with our fabulous presenter Victoria from Bold Consultancy.”

There are currently four spaces left on the last Supervising and Managing Others course for the year, and Guy encourages anyone that has recently been appointed as a new manager to consider signing up.

“This course is aimed at first time managers or supervisors, but also established managers who may be looking to refresh their skills and their focus in terms of their staff management. Many businesses who sign up for this course are also eligible for up to 50% off the course fees, thanks to our partnership with New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE). Anyone wondering if they might be eligible for this discount can contact me to discuss before they sign up.”

The very last course for 2019 takes place on October 16th. Instagram for Business is one of several social media courses introduced by ENC this year, all of which have proven very popular.

“We introduced a number of social media courses into our events programme this year as we know that many small North Canterbury businesses are using social media and have not had the opportunity to engage in formal training to better their skills in this now-essential marketing area,” explains Guy.

“We’ve had very good feedback from participants on our social media courses and we will definitely be looking to add more to our 2020 calendar.”

Instagram for Business is a short morning course presented by Aleisha Duncan of Rebel Influence. Aimed at businesses who have identified Instagram as a key marketing channel and are looking to advance their Instagram activity and learn more about the platform, the course is available in person at the ENC Business Centre, or online via video conferencing.

As with the Supervising and Managing Others course, NZTE may be able to provide up to 50% off the course costs for Instagram for Business.

The 2020 Enterprise North Canterbury Business Events Calendar is already in the planning, and events will be added to the ENC website as they are confirmed.

“We have a number of great new courses coming up in 2020, as well as the return of some of the most popular favourites,” says Guy.

“With the available discounts and range of courses on offer here in North Canterbury, our aim is to provide essential training for all businesses in the region.”
