ITO's

Industry Training Organisations (ITO's) provide on the job training for employees. Many school leavers when starting a new job, will be linked to an ITO for some specialist training.  Their courses are generally accreddited to NZQA and as such each training module awards credits to the trainee.  For a full list of ITO's in New Zealand click here

Modern Apprenticeships

ITO's are also able to work with businesses to place apprentices.  These apprentices have decided that they want to enter a specific trade, there are many routes to becoming an apprentice but the final result is that employment is found and the appropriate training is sourced through the ITO. This allows apprentices to train to a standard whilst they are working.
