Doctors

There are many doctors practicing in the region situated in Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Waikari and Woodend.  They are generally based in Medical Centres which also house other health professionals such as nurses.  Medical services in New Zealand are chargeable in most cases and it is cheaper if you have registered with a doctor.

Hospitals

North Canterbury has three hospitals; Rangiora Hospital provides maternity services, Oxford and Waikari Community Hospitals provide low 'tech' medical and surgical rehabilitation, elderly care and maternity beds.  All other hosiptal services are provided through the General Hosiptal in Christchurch.

Mental Health Services

North Canterbury offers support to those experiencing mental health issues.  The support is available across the two districts and is a recovery-focused mental health service that provides group and/or individual support. Recovery plans are tailored to individual need, personal development and coaching is available as well as a great support network.  For more information on the different services available, click here.

Early Childhood Care
