The Waimakariri District Council is seeking to appoint an Accounts Officer on a full time job share basis for two days per week. The key task of this position is to maintain job costing and invoicing procedures, assist with month end procedures and provide assistance with various wider finance department functions. There is a wide range of duties associated with this role to provide a challenge and a variety to the work.

This position would suit a person with strong numeracy skills, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail and with an understanding of local authority accounting systems. Payroll experience would be preferred as back up of the payroll function would be a requirement. The hours to be worked each week will be worked on a Thursday and Friday, however an initial training period up to one month full time will be required.
