The Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing districts in the country. Based in Rangiora, approximately 30 minutes north of Christchurch, this vibrant Council is responsible for providing local government services to its community.
This role is Part time and 16 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced community development advisor to join the team at the Earthquake Hub in Kaiapoi.
This is one half of a job-share position that works with the communities of Kaiapoi, Pines Beach and Kairaki to support community well-being following the earthquake in September 2010 and subsequent aftershocks.
In addition the role supports and assists in the design, implementation and evaluation of a range of strategies and actions that will build community connections and stronger, more resilient communities.
You will be well organised and able to work independently as well as be part of a small team. You will have experience working in communities, be passionate about community development and be able to work in a fast paced and often, fast-changing environment.
