Community Green Space Manager

The prime purpose of this position is to develop and maintain relationships with the community to ensure that what the Council has interpreted and understood reflects the community views on the development and management of green space and associated community facilities.

The Community Green Space Manager will provide leadership and guidance to Council and Staff to support the future planning for green space in the District. The main outputs are to prepare management plans, development plans and master plans for collective areas of green space in consultation with the community.

We are looking for a community focussed person who has the personal skills to relate to and work effectively with a diverse range of people and who is experienced in working with the community on planning or recreation development issues. Applicants will also have a tertiary qualification in a recreation or planning area.
